Small Hydraulic Generating Station
 
Generating Station Client: Renfrew Hydro Electric Commission
Location: Renfew, Ontario Canada
Operational: October 1995
Description: This facility, which was originally constructed in the first decade of this century, was rehabilitated by Elecsar Engineering. Both stations together have five generators rated at 2000kW with a terminal voltage of 4160V.

Features:

  • Arc-resistant, compact SF6 indoor 5kV generator switchgear
  • Replaced existing on-line shaft driven exciters with solid state exciters
  • Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automatic generator control
  • Microprocessor based monitoring and control for Renfrew H.E.C. System and Generating Stations
  • Full protection and control package for generators and exciters
